For Hanham Primary Federation we have an enthusiastic and committed Governing Body. All governors work to ensure the effective management of the school, alongside the Headteachers and the schools’ Senior Leadership Team. Governors are volunteers who contribute a range of skills from a variety of backgrounds, but all with the same aim of continually improving the school.
Our Governors include representatives from the local community, local authority, parents of the school and school staff. Governors have a close relationship with the Headteachers and staff to provide a source of support and challenge. They are often in school, formally and informally, keeping in touch with school life. This will include a variety activities, from helping to set the long term direction for the school, setting the school budget, recruiting staff and monitoring school performance through to attending school concerts, helping out in class, grounds maintenance and lending a hand at school fundraisers.
Our Governors meet regularly throughout the year, as a Full Governing Body and in sub-committees. There are also special Governor Link Days each term where Governors have an opportunity to spend a day in school spending time with children and staff. This usually includes an opportunity for parents/carers to meet with some of the Governors on an informal basis to discuss any area relating to the management of the school.
If you are interested in becoming in a Governor, please contact: Mrs Marian Duller, Clerk to the Governors, via the Samuel White’s Infant School school office.
